Plagiarism & Paraphrasing

A guide explaining plagiarism and paraphrasing. To be used in conjunction with in person and/or Canvas Course sessions.

Understanding Plagiarism with help from Dr. Seuss

To help with better understanding plagiarism, we are going to use Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham to showcase how easily plagiarism can happen and what it can often look like.

Let's pretend you have a paper to write on unfamiliar foods and Green Eggs and Ham is one of your sources that you use for the paper.

On the page "Dr. Seuss Quiz", you will be presented with example statements using the phrase "do not like green eggs and ham". You will need to decide whether or not the statement is plagiarized or not.

Before we get started, feel free to either read the book Green Eggs and Ham yourself, or watch the video reading below. You can stop watching after about 25 seconds.
