About the Library

All public libraries and institutions of higher education automatically grant in-house use of materials and resources. Circulation of materials outside the library will be contingent upon your residency in the case of public libraries and on local practices for colleges and universities.

Reciprocal borrowing agreements are currently in place with several of the community colleges in our Tennessee service area.  Many private colleges will grant library privileges for a small annual fee; be sure to check ahead with the one you have in mind to visit. Public Internet facilities are available at many public and community colleges.   TU students, faculty, and staff, along with students from other northeast Tennessee private and community colleges, may obtain borrower’s cards from Sherrod Library, ETSU. Potential borrowers must present a current school ID card plus an ETSU Responsibility Form signed by, in our case, a TU librarian, which certifies  you have personally exhausted the online and on-site resources of the  Library.

All public libraries will gladly provide interlibrary loan services for their patrons, including those students involved in Tusculum University Adult and Online Studies programs, and can often have a desired item back to your home town much faster than we can have it here for your pickup. It is not uncommon for the Greeneville-Greene County Public Library and branches of the Knoxville, Oak Ridge, and Chattanooga Public Libraries to have loans available overnight.
