The library has several laptops that can be loaned out to students, faculty and staff for up to four hours at a time. These laptops are for use in the library only and may not leave the building. Please bring your Tusculum identification card when you check out a laptop. All users are required to sign a responsibility form (available at the Circulation Desk) before being loaned a laptop. ID cards will be held at the Circulation desk until the laptop is returned.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services provided by the Thomas J. Garland Library enable students, faculty, and staff of Tusculum University the opportunity to borrow books and obtain photocopies of journal articles from other institutions when the material is not available at the TU Library.
Users of this service should note:
Due to limited availability and expense, it is unlikely that any lending library will allow the Thomas J. Garland Library and its patrons to borrow a known course textbooks. As such, we will not process any request for textbook related items.
If you are looking for easier access to course required textbooks, please check with Student Support Services or the Tutoring Center Book Loan Program. We also recommend searching Amazon and related companies for cheaper options.
The required electronic request forms are available on the library website under "Interlibrary Loan Services" or by clicking on the link below.

PLEASE NOTE: The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose except private study, scholarship or research." This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. This may apply to software and other non-print formats as well.
Borrowers will assume costs that lending libraries may charge for requested items. A librarian will contact the borrower for permission and verification that the borrower will pay for the additional fees, should the lending library require them, before continuing to process the request. If a borrower is unwilling to pay additional fees, the library reserves the right to cancel a request or to explore alternative methods of obtaining the material within the cost parameters provided by the borrower.
Users requesting Interlibrary Loans will be made aware of their responsibility for the borrowed material and assumption of all replacement costs if the material is overdue, lost, or damaged.
